Black is a color that differs only slightly from pure black. These colors have low light. From a photometric point of view, colors slightly different from black always have relatively low luminance. Black color variations include what is commonly called the off-black color, which can be considered as part of a neutral color scheme, usually in interior design as part of the background for brighter colors. Black and dark gray are strong accent colors that show weight, dignity, formality, and sincerity.
In color theory, the color is a pure color mixed with black. This reduces its relief while almost preserving its chromaticity. Strictly speaking, "black" is always pure black and "black" will be neutral gray. Unlike this, many black-offs have hue and color (also called saturation).
