Go Back! รข€
src: brbconline.org

The Go-Backs are elves in the Elfquest series of comics. They named themselves from their goal of returning to The High Palace. They are hunters (probably collectors, too) and, above all, soldiers. Most of them do not care about the past and the future. They are the only famous tribe who scoffs magic - especially the healing magic, knowing that a healer is around making 'soft' warriors. Their most important tradition is to dance to their deaths.

In the series Kahvi it was revealed that the Go-Backs were originally a splinter group of Wolfriders, who had lost their wolf blood "because of Willowgreen's hoax." What exactly looks like that, or how exactly Go-Backs become horsemen and palace seekers, is an untold story. (The prose story about the Willowgreen healer and his "ruse" appeared in the book "Dawn Hunter" in the mid-1990s, but the volume was repeatedly postponed, then canceled.)

When the Go-Backs tried to return to the Palace, they were stopped by the Ice Troll, who assumed that after the elves were reinstalled at the Palace, they would enslave the trolls as their ancestors. The battle took place between the two groups and was in progress when Go-Backs rescued Wolfriders and formed an alliance with them.

After the Palace was won, Go-Backs remained close, but not for long. When the trolls catch the Ekuar, Rayek blames the Go-Backs, and drives them out by creating a chasm that prevents them from crossing into the mountains. Kahvi became separated from the rest of his tribe, and went to search for Rayek's palace with enthusiasm, for revenge. He lived with Wolfriders for several years.

When he finally returns to Go-Backs, Zey is their new head. He suggests invading the Village of the Sun with a small party to steal the Little Palace. After this fails, Zey brings an all-out war to Sorrow's End. Kahvi realizes that war is not a way to regain honor. He killed Zey, and led the Go-Backs back into the Frozen Mountains, even without the Little Palace. Here, Go-Backs get back to their way (minus Palace-searching). Kahvi remains a head, but often leaves the tribe to the second Mardu, once to Blue Mountain trying to get a new trophy, not a Palace for a tribe, discovering his own past, and once trying to find Cutter to bear it. child.

There are several thousand years that are completely uncharted, but the most recent part that is revealed looks like Kahvi one day did not come back from one of his expeditions, and the Go-Backs parted ways, some lived in the Frozen Mountains, others settled in the New Land - People Teir. The Go-Backs who live in the Frozen Mountains join the other elves at the Palace after the second restoration; many of whom joined Venka in his search for Kahvi.

Character

Coffee

Princess Willowgreen and (public) Two-Spear (though her mother acknowledged her close friend and cousin Greywolf), the mother of Vaya and Venka's daughter, and recently proved to be Teir's mother, and possibly more children. Lovemate of Rayek, Cutter, Tyldak, and Vok. Kahvi is brave and outspoken, a fierce fighter, though sometimes reckless in combat. Kahvi (almost) is capable of loving, though he rarely presents it openly, and does not over manipulate the people who care for him. Nevertheless, he is a tribal chief beloved by his people. He also insulted magic, like many of his tribes. Died after challenging his father to head, he was revived shortly afterwards, preserved in a magic pool in the cave where the Two-Spear tribe lives. The pond may have a hand in wiping out the blood of the wolf and evoking its magic potential.

When he woke up, he had no memory of his previous life, and so was coached by Sharf, the leader of the Go-Backs, to become the next leader. Having inherited the headbands of Sharf's death, he led the Go-Backs for years, though most of the time he would travel alone and allow others to lead. She gave birth and raised two daughters, Vaya (who was killed during the Troll/Elf war for the palace) and Venka (father by one-time lovemaking, Rayek). During the long sleep of Wolfriders, he traveled with his beloved Tyldak and later joined the son of Tyldak, Windkin. During the attacks by humans, Tyldak was severely wounded and bleed to death in the hands of Khavi. After that, he persuaded Windkin to love a child to himself, to have a small part of life from Tyldak. However, when she gave birth to her son, Teir, she immediately left him to tribemates to raise, because she really wanted a girl. Years later, exhausted by his long life, he allowed himself to be hunted, and killed by, the Lehrigen man, allowing him to take his braided as the trophy he took for the rest of his life. He has long brown hair with double braids on each side (headband) and green eyes.

Arri

Female fairies with light brown hair. When Chot reported a failed attempt to steal the Little Palace, he remembered the Golden Light Tunnel from Rayek's stories, allowing the Go-Backs to attack Sorrow's End.

Chot

Zey's good friend. He went with Kahvi to steal the Small Palace, but betrayed him. In battle for the Small Castle he was seriously injured, and sealed in the Preserver cocoon until a physician could help. Then he lived with Sun Folk. He was made to go with the Dart party to Forevergreen. Many times he made friends with Jethel, and when Jethel did not join another elf at the castle, Chot decided to look for him instead of joining another. Appears at Going Back , main body New Blood and at Fluid .

Jirda

Female fairy with brown hair and brown eyes. He was still young when Kahvi returned with Tyldak to Go-Backs after the Lost Palace, and shot them. Nevertheless, he is a little coward for Go-Back. Appears at Going Back .

Mardu

He became the second commander of Kahvi after the war at Sorrow's End. It looks like he's really taking care of the tribe, while their heads go to more or less crazy expeditions. He was originally the only Kahvi to believe in the secret that the Go-Backs used to be Wolfriders. In Going Back he is depicted with light brown hair and brown eyes, but at its center, he has red hair. Appears in Going Back and Kahvi .

Trof

He has a magical talent: telekinesis. Unfortunately, he does not have full control: When Go-Back celebrates Seizing the Egg, he manages to drift out of the hive, letting Tyldak steal it. However, the same talent helps restore it.
Appears in Kahvi

Vok

Lovemate of Kahvi. He is a kind of poet for Go-Backs; he is often seen playing the flute, and is also responsible for "writing" songs about good deeds. Possible father of Vaya. It appears in the original series and in Kahvi .

Zey

Zey became head of the Go-Back after they lost the Palace to Rayek. After Kahvi says that he can bring back a piece of Palace, he is afraid he will take over the tribe again, and more or less to his friend Chot to make sure he will not return. After Chot reported Kahvi's death, he led the Go-Backs into a brutal attack on grief. Kahvi killed him, ending the struggle for Little Palace.

She has dark red hair and light brown eyes. He may be the son of Mardu. Appears in Going Back and New Blood .
